Parading the Poppies!

Good evening!

I hope you've had a fantastic week, can you believe January has almost passed? Christmas now feels like a distant memory, doesn't it?!

I am really looking forward to Spring arriving. My daffodils have started to pop up, I can't wait to see them start to bloom!

This weekend I held my 'Poppies on Parade' workshop which was so much fun, and full or prettiness and creativity!

First, I taught the ladies how to do the masking technique. We used post-it notes to cover a stamped image in order to overlap another stamp without it showing the overlapped lines! (I hope that makes sense!) Here's what we made with this technique; How stunning are they?!

We had a bit of a free for all with the tags, I wanted the ladies to make a few to try some of the techniques and styles, it was great to see what they came up with!

The next cards tried using the great splatter stamps that come in the Painted Poppies stamp set. These stamps are great fun and give a wonderful effect.

The Painted Poppies set is such a versatile set. It really can be used for any occasion. So much so, the ladies chose not to stamp any sentiments on them so they can be used when needed in the future!

From now until the end of February, I am running a little bonus... For everyone who purchases the Painted Poppies stamp set from me, I will give you a free gift!  (This is not part of  Stampin' Up! promotion and is only valid whilst stocks of the freebies last!)

For now, I'm off to play with the Silhouette Scenes and Enjoy Life stamp sets in preparation for the next workshop on the 8th February.

Have a wonderful week everyone!

Simply Bee-autiful!

Happy Sunday everyone!

I hope you're all having a wonderful January.

Can you believe I am still sticking to my new way of planning?! It seems to be working so well, I don't know why i didn't do this sooner!

This weekend has been a rather busy week socially. I held my craft evening on Friday, the ladies came over to work on their own little projects, drink some tea and some amazing hot chocolate and we did have a good giggle.

Then, on Saturday, my friend came down to stay the night and we ended up binge watching Silent Witness! It was so cosy and relaxed.

And now today! Doesn't the weekend go so quickly!

Last week, I got a couple of new stamp sets to play with, and first up is the Honey Bee set. It's in the Spring/Summer catalogue and the best bit, you can get the gorgeous Designer Series Paper as a freebie from the Sale-A-Bration!!

See what I mean? This DSP is gorgeous isn't it!

I had a little play with the stamps, using the Golden Glitz and Vegas Gold inks to add a bit of shiny to the bee and the hive... So simple yet very effective!

I can see me using this set so much more...

Anyhow, that's it for now, crafting is calling me!

I hope you have a wonderful week.

Resolute with my resolutions!

Hello everyone!

So, we are 12 days into the new year, how are you doing with your resolutions? Me, I am still going strong! I'm surprising myself with sticking to my plans, I'm feeling so much more productive and content that I am using my time well. I have even factored in down time, and now will be having a movie night every Saturday. Which for anyone who knows me, downtime isn't something I am good at!

One of my plans, is to do 1 hour an evening of something crafty, whether that is making something, doing the admin or tidying my craft space!

So far it is going well. I have been playing with the Painted Poppies suite this week, in preparation for the upcoming workshop on the 25th January. (Let me know if you'd like to come along!)

It is a beautiful set, and you can make some stunning cards with very little effort, perfect right?!

Here's a few photos of some of the cards and tags I have come up with, what do you think?

I do love the look of these, so pretty! And the splattery looking stamps make a fun background, don't you think?!

This week I also received my latest little order, and I have a few new stamp sets to play with!

Grace's Garden is so pretty, I do wish I had got the dies to go with it though, but that will have to be for next time!
And the free Host Only set of Little Ladybug, it's adorable!
Finally, I ordered the Heart to Heart stamp set, I can't wait to make some beautiful cards using this one but as ever I have the MASSIVE problem, of which beautiful set do I use next haha! (If only all my problems were as wonderful and fun as this!)

So keep an eye out, there will be so many pretty things popping up on my Instagram and Facebook accounts. My Username on both is @Craftingonthegreen

This week I am looking forward to Friday as it's the girly craft evening where it's an unplanned evening of giggles and crafty fun.

That's it for me, for now, I will see you again next weekend!

Have a great week,

Happy New Year!

Happy 2020!

I hope you all had a wonderful Christmas and New Year. I had a lovely time with friends and family. This time of year always makes me feel so blessed to have such amazing people in my life.

Yesterday was the first class of the new year, and so I thought we could make something to mark the occasion; a calendar!

I prepped the calendars by printing each month onto a 4.5 x 4" piece of Whisper White cardstock. Created a base so it could be folded into a desk stand and it was ready to decorate! It was so much fun, making a calendar that is all for you. You choose your special days, which stamp set you would like to decorate which month... It was a happy chaos as I had all the inks, stamps and embellishments available to use, and that doesn't happen often!

Here's a couple of photos of a calendar that was made, what do you think?

These are my favourites, but each month will make me smile when I turn over to it, even the pages with the odd mistake! It is MY calendar and there are no others the same :)

So with the calendar made, and the first few workshops planned, admin caught up on, the release of the new Spring/Summer and Sale-A-Bration catalogues and the first order placed of 2020... my resolution to learn to plan better has got off to a good start too. I can't wait to see what this year brings!

I do hope it brings more of us together to have fun and make pretty things. I also hope it brings you every happiness and a year of all things wonderful.

Thanks so much for reading my blog, I love having your support.

Happy New Year to all of you
